A director of a corporation that operates facilities for the disabled was arrested for sexually assaulting a teenage female user. The Kumamoto District Court sentenced him to five years in prison.
In October last year, prefectural police arrested a 53-year-old man for sexually assaulting a mentally disabled woman at a hotel in Asahi-ku, Yokohama.
The suspect was arrested on suspicion of quasi-forcible sexual intercourse is a company employee living in Sobudai, Zama City. At the time, the suspect was a staff member of a continuous employment support facility in the prefecture, and the woman was using the facility.
The suspect has reportedly admitted to the charges to the police, saying, “there is no doubt.”
According to the JR East Metropolitan Area Headquarters, between around October last year and January this year, a male station staff member asked a visually impaired woman using the station, “I’d give you a piggy-back ride” and “Isn’t your chest heavy? Do you want me to carry you?” and other comments. After asking the woman what time she would be home, he invited her out to dinner and said he would go to her house.
The suspect is believed to have committed the crime when he was alone with a woman after training, and said to the investigation, “There is no doubt that I did engage in sexual acts, but I did it as part of my education.’
It took more than four hours for the woman to verbally testify about the damage she suffered, which was a decisive factor in the indictment of Kanta Ogura, 40, a former company employee in Sakai City, Osaka, for indecent assault.
Ogura was sentenced to three years in prison suspended for five years with probation, as he had demonstrated an attitude of remorse.
A 19-year-old woman with mental disabilities living in Osaka Prefecture was accosted by an unknown man on a street in Osaka City in January this year and forcibly taken to a hotel where he touched her breasts. The verdict will be handed down at the Osaka District Court on October 7th at 2:30PM.
“Oyamada confessed to two magazines that he bullied during his school days. In the January 1994 issue of the Japanese music magazine “Rocking On Japan,” he wrote, “I would make him naked, wrap a string around him, and make him masturbate.”
The man is suspected of touching her body from the top of her clothes when a high school girl (16) was in a state of confusion at around 4 pm on May 31 in an apartment in Chuo-ku, Tokyo. She denies the charges, saying “she doesn’t remember.” The high school girl has a developmental disability and she had little awareness of what she was doing.
The Osaka District Public Prosecutor’s Office is collaborating with the Osaka Prefectural Police Department. The focus concerns victims of sex crimes with intellectual, and a senior prosecutor said, “The characteristics and degree of disability vary from person to person. We are carefully considering what method is appropriate.”
Oita Prefecture reported that in fiscal year 2019 ‘sexual acts’ such as kissing took place at care facilities in the prefecture.
