The booklet, ‘ForFathers’, was produced by the Association to Support the Future of Parents and Children, a non-profit organisation made up of doctors and parents of children with disabilities.
“It would be nice to have at least some spectators” when the Paralympics are held from Aug. 24 to Sept. 5, Suga said, adding the decision will be made among organizers including his government, the Japanese organizing committee and the International Paralympic Committee.
“I was looking for a motif that would be easily recognized as Japanese,” designer Sakiko Matsumoto told reporters. “Athletes are people who can influence the world…and when you think of the games, the pivot will be the athletes.”

“We sincerely hope that you will listen to our voices and not rush to hold the Games. We sincerely hope that you will take the wise decision to cancel the event and carry it out.”
On July 8, an attempt to use virtual reality (VR) in training for people with developmental or cognitive disabilities to find employment or return to work was held at ‘Work Support Suginami’, an employment transition support office in Tokyo’s Suginami Ward.
The Osaka High Court on July 9 rejected the appeal of a lawsuit filed by Heisei Healthcare Academy, a school corporation in Osaka City, against the government’s refusal to allow the establishment of a new Shiatsu training facility for the visually impaired.
