The World Para Athletics Championships is the world’s premier para athletics event established by the International Paralympic Committee. The first conference was held in Berlin, Germany in 1994, and since the fifth conference in Christchurch, New Zealand in 2011.

The Kobe Games were scheduled to be held in 2021, but were forced to be postponed twice due to the global pandemic of the new coronavirus.

In the “metaverse ward office,” local residents can use their avatars to move around inside a virtual municipal hall, which is designed like the real one, after accessing the virtual space from the ward’s website. The ward aspires to make the service fully available to all residents, covering all of its departments by fiscal 2028.

Para-Aquathlon Event held in Tottori On Sports Day

The “16th All Japan Challenged Aquathlon Kaike Tournament,” where people with disabilities take on swimming and running, was held on October 9th in Yonago City, Tottori Prefecture, which is considered the birthplace of triathlon in Japan. Approximately 80 people aged 6 to 78 from within and outside the prefecture worked hard to reach the goal with the help of approximately 290 volunteers.

Aichi-based Care for Disabled Management Company ‘Megumi’ to be Investigated over Alleged Overcharging and Fraud

In an interview with Kyodo News, several former employees of the ‘Megumi’ Corporation, a major operator of group homes for the disabled that has been found to have overcharged residents for food, testified that the company had created false service provision records that differed from the actual situation and that the entire organization had been receiving improper compensation for welfare and medical services for the disabled.
