OSAKA – Osaka Prefecture announced on August 5 that a total of 11 users and staff were infected with the new coronavirus at a facility for the disabled in Osaka City.
Those who were infected included 9 people with disabilities who use the facility in their 20s and 60s, and employees are in their 20s and 40s. Both are mild, cases but two male users in their 40s and 50s are said to have underlying illness. The prefecture believes that a cluster has occurred and is proceeding with the investigation of the infection route and concentrated contacts.
According to Kyodo, on Thursday 6 August, Osaka Prefecture confirmed a record 225 new cases of coronavirus.
