Coronavirus cluster found at Saitama facility for people with disabilities, thirteen infected

A cluster of people infected with the new coronavirus has broken out at a facility for people with disabilities in Saitama Prefecture, and the prefectural government is investigating the route of infection.

SAITAMA – A cluster of people infected with the new coronavirus has broken out at a facility for people with disabilities in Saitama Prefecture, and the prefectural government is investigating the route of infection.

According to Saitama Prefecture, two people had been confirmed infected at a facility for the disabled in the prefecture on the 5th, but on the 6th, 11 people, including seven users and four staff members, were previously found to be positive, bringing the total to 13.

Although PCR tests have been carried out on the people involved in the facility, it is expected to take some time before all the results are available, and the prefectural government is also investigating the route of infection. Including the 11 people who tested positive for the virus at the facility, a total of 179 people have been confirmed to have been infected with the new coronavirus in Saitama Prefecture.
