KAWANISHI , Hyogo Pref – A workshop on preventing the spread of the new coronavirus was held in Kawanishi City for staff members of facilities for the disabled.

The staff of about 70 business offices who support the lives and employment of people with intellectual disabilities and physical disabilities in Kawanishi City participated in the workshop using a web conference system.

Saeko Nishida, a nurse who is taking measures to prevent infection at Kawanishi Municipal Hospital, serves as a lecturer.

Nishida explained that “the new coronavirus infection route has more contact than flying,” and explained that they should thoroughly wash their hands with soap and disinfect tables and doorknobs.

Participants asked questions such as “Is the product that claims spatial sterilization effective in preventing infection?”, said Nishida, “I do not know the effect well, and I want ventilation to be the basis.”

An employee working at a support facility for children with developmental disabilities said, “The temperature is getting higher and more children are reluctant to wear masks, and I’m glad I could confirm the basic knowledge of infection control.”
