A Japanese court has sentenced a former elementary school teacher to three years and six months in prison for possessing naked images of girls created by generative artificial intelligence, among other acts, in violation of the law against child prostitution and pornography.
According to the Japan Institute for Promotion of Digital Economy and Community survey, conducted online in mid-January, when asked whether they would prefer to consult a human or AI about relationship issues, 47.8 percent of female respondents in their 60s and 70s chose AI, which is more than the 37.3 percent who preferred humans.
Toyota Motor Corp. and Nippon Telegraph and Telephone Corp will build and operate the system, which will use artificial intelligence and optical communication technology to collect huge amounts of data and provide highly accurate driving assistance. They plan to invest around 500 billion yen by 2030.
