Resident at Gunma disability support facility arrested after allegedly stomping fellow resident to death

A man residing at a disability support facility in Shibukawa, Gunma Prefecture, has been arrested on suspicion of attempting to murder another resident at 4:30AM on July 11th. The victim was later pronounced dead at a hospital.

GUNMA – A man residing at a disability support facility in Shibukawa, Gunma Prefecture, has been arrested on suspicion of attempting to murder another resident. The victim was later pronounced dead at a hospital.

Hiroshi Takeda, 40, a resident of the disability support facility in Shibukawa, was arrested on suspicion of attempted murder.

According to police, at around 4:30 a.m. on July 11, Takeda allegedly tried to kill another 40-year-old male resident by repeatedly stomping on his abdomen and neck with both feet in a corridor on the facility’s second floor.

The victim was transported to a hospital, where he was later pronounced dead.

Police said the incident came to light when a staff member making routine rounds found the victim collapsed and not breathing.

Authorities are conducting an autopsy to determine the exact cause of death and are continuing to investigate the circumstances surrounding the incident.
