Kanazawa Employment Support Agency for People with Disabilities Files for Bankruptcy after Fraudulently Receiving 30.41 Million Yen

Kanazawa – According to the Kanazawa Branch of Teikoku Databank, ‘Class’ represented by Hiroki Katsurayama), which operated the “Employment Transition IT School Kanazawa” in Kanazawa City, has received a decision from the Kanazawa District Court to commence bankruptcy proceedings. Last December, the company had its designation revoked by Kanazawa City for fraudulently receiving 30.41 million yen in benefit payments intended for employment support for people with disabilities.

The decision to commence bankruptcy was issued on the 2nd, and the total liabilities are currently under investigation. The company was established in September 2021 and had been helping individuals who required employment support due to mental illnesses or other conditions to acquire skills such as video editing, programming, and web design.

The company’s primary source of revenue was disability welfare service fees paid by the national and local governments. However, last December, it was discovered that the company had failed to assign a service management responsible person, as required by local ordinance, during the periods from December 2022 to March 2023, and from November 2023 to April 2025. Following the disciplinary action taken by the city, the company ceased operations by the end of last year.

The city had demanded a payment of 42.58 million yen, which included additional penalties, but it was not paid by the January 5th deadline of this year. At the time of the fraudulent receipt of funds, a different individual served as the representative instead of Mr. Katsurayama, and the city is currently considering filing criminal charges against that individual.
