Former Employee of Facility for Disabled Re-arrested for Fourth Time Over Sexual Assault of 9-Year-Old Girl

TOKYO – A 46-year-old former employee of a facility for children with disabilities has been rearrested on suspicion of sexually assaulting a nine-year-old girl who attended the facility and filming the incident. This is the fourth time he has been arrested, including in connection with cases involving another young girl.

Rearrested on suspicion of non-consensual sexual intercourse and other offenses was Takuya Goto (46), a former employee of a day-service facility for children with disabilities.

Goto is suspected of sexually assaulting a girl who attended the facility (then aged 9) in February of the year before last at a restroom in a shopping mall in Kashiwa City, Chiba Prefecture, knowing that she was under the age of 13. He is also suspected of filming the assault.

According to the Tokyo Metropolitan Police Department, Goto was employed at the time as a staff member at the day-service facility for children with disabilities and was responsible for tasks including transporting children to and from the facility. On the day of the incident, he was allegedly driving the girl from her school to the facility in a vehicle belonging to the facility.

During questioning, Goto has exercised his right to remain silent.

Goto had previously been arrested and indicted for allegedly committing indecent acts against a five-year-old girl who also attended the same disability support facility and filming those acts. This latest case marks his fourth arrest.
