YAMANASHI – On February 7th Yamanishi prefecture started offering the third vaccination shot against the new coronavirus for medical workers and others, as well as vaccination of employees of facilities for the disabled, where clusters are likely to occur.
Yamanashi prefecture began offering the third vaccination shot against the new coronavirus began in December last year for medical workers and some elderly people. It has just begun offering it employees at care facilities for people with disabilities.
On the 7th, the University of Yamanashi Hospital in Chuo City started to inoculate employees of facilities for the people with disabilities who are prone to cluster infections. A mass vaccination site was set up in the hospital, where more than 450 employees of facilities for the disabled in the prefecture were vaccinated one after another. At this site, about 1,800 people will be vaccinated for the third time in four days until the 10th of this month.
An employee in his thirties who received the vaccine said, “I am glad that I was able to get the vaccine because it is a prerequisite for our employees to be healthy so that people can come to our facilities with peace of mind. Mr. Masao Yukimura, head of the prefectural vaccine team, said, “We believe that preventing clusters and serious illnesses in facilities for the disabled as much as possible is important to protect the health of the prefecture’s citizens and at the same time maintain the medical care delivery system.
