Hokkaido’s Labour Bureau announces that employment rate for persons with disabilities in 2020 “lowest in the last 10 years”

The Hokkaido Labor Bureau announced that the employment rate of persons with disabilities through Hello Work in Hokkaido was 41.5% last year, the lowest in the last 10 years. Due to the influence of the new coronavirus, the number of job offers from companies is decreasing.

HOKKAIDO – The Hokkaido Labour Bureau announced that the employment rate of persons with disabilities through Hello Work in Hokkaido was 41.5% last year, the lowest in the last 10 years. Due to the influence of the new coronavirus, the number of job offers from companies is decreasing.

According to the Hokkaido Labour Bureau, the number of persons with disabilities who found employment through Hello Work in Hokkaido last year was 4,228, a decrease of 500, or 10.6%, compared to the previous year.

On the other hand, the number of new job applications was 10,189, a decrease of 1.7% from the previous year.

As a result, the employment rate was 41.5%, down 4.1 points from the previous year, the lowest in the last 10 years.

In addition, the number of people dismissed was 178, an increase of 109, or 158%, compared to the previous year.
