Two daycare centers in Kawasaki City that provide daycare services for children with disabilities were found to have been abusing children by throwing them to the ground, and the city has revoked the designation of the centers.
According to Kawasaki City, the two facilities, “JOY KIDS GO” and “JOY KIDS,” are operated by a company in Tsurumi Ward, Yokohama City.
In November last year, the city received a report that children were being abused, and when the city conducted an on-site inspection, it found that the staff at the two facilities had violently attacked four children by grabbing them by the neck and throwing them.
In addition, it was found that the staff at the two facilities had lied about the number of children they were working with, even though they did not have the necessary qualifications to receive the designation.
Kawasaki City revoked the designation of “JOY KIDS GO” and suspended the designation of “JOY KIDS” for six months from June of this year.In addition, the city will demand the return of over 43 million yen in benefits paid to date.In response to the city’s inquiry,
Big Forest, the company that operates the center, said, “We were hoping that the fraud would not be discovered.
