May 18th 2019
Japan’s National Personnel Authority announced on the 18th May that it will carry out a national government employee’s employment examination for persons with disabilities in 2019. Applications will be accepted in June in response to the problem of the employment of disabled people in central ministries and agencies identified in 2018 when 754 people passed in the first examination for disabled people, and the ratio for the number of applicants was about 12 times smaller.
Those who have a notebook or medical certificate demonstrating a disability and were born on or after April 2nd, 1960 are eligible. Applications will be accepted via the Internet or by mail from 17th to 26th June 2019. The number of recruitment and work locations of each ministry will be announced in early June.
The first examinations will be conducted in nine cities, including Sapporo City and Fukuoka City, on September 15 with questions and essays on basic knowledge necessary for public officials. Those who will pass will be announced on October 17th. The interviews for each ministry will be scheduled from October 28th to November 11th. The final winners will be announced on November 26th.
In the second round of the 18th fiscal year, some ministries were flooded with applications, and there was confusion such as temporary suspension of acceptance, so we are considering improvement measures.
