The bill revising the Employment Promotion Act for Persons with Disabilities, which includes measures to prevent the government from interpreting the criteria arbitrarily when hiring people with disabilities in response to the central government ministries’s problem of employment of disabled people The ball was voted on and unanimously passed to the House of Councilors.
In response to the problem that the employment of disabled persons was inflated in the central ministries and agencies, the draft amendments to the Employment Promotion Act for Persons with Disabilities submitted by the government are obstacles in adopting them to prevent arbitrary judgments by central ministries and local governments. Obligatory confirmation by documents such as person’s notebook, and when such procedure is not followed, it is said that the Ministry of Health, Labor and Welfare can make a recommendation.
In addition, it is also obliged to save copies of the disability certificate used for the list and confirmation of the disabled person employed and to publicize the employment situation of the disabled person.
The revised bill was voted on at the plenary session of the House of Representatives on the 16th and passed unanimously to the House of Councilors.
The revised proposal is expected to come into effect in the current Diet.
