Kiryu City, Gunma Pref – In Kiryu City, a business operator that operates a support facility for children with disabilities fraudulently lost over 2.5 million yen in benefits from the city and other organizations by pretending that the manager was working full-time. The prefecture’s designation was revoked as a result of an administrative penalty for receiving the benefits.

The company that received administrative punishment was Kapono Co., Ltd., which operates Cody Kids Kiryu, a support facility for children with disabilities in Kiryu City.

According to the prefecture, this company fraudulently received over 2.53 million yen in benefits from Kiryu City and other places in 46 cases between July and October last year.

Specifically, even though there is no manager in charge of creating child development plans, etc., they submit false applications to the prefecture claiming that they are working full-time, and fraudulently claim benefits without subtracting them. It means that he was doing something like that.

They also created false shift charts and work logs.

The business operator told the prefecture, “We realized that we had made fraudulent claims in July last year, but we continued to do so,” indicating that they intend to fully refund the fraudulent benefits received.

The prefecture will cancel the designation of this business operator on April 1st, meaning that the business operator will not be able to provide support for children with disabilities for five years thereafter.
