OME, TOKYO – An employee at facility for people with disabilities in Ome City, Tokyo was arrested on suspicion of injury for beating and injuring a resident man. The man subsequently died, and the Metropolitan Police Department is investigating the circumstances.
The person arrested was a forty-year old staff member of a support facility for the disabled in Ome City, Tokyo.
According to the Tokyo Metropolitan Police Department, on the night of the 28th, a 30-year-old man who had been in the facility was assaulted by being hit in his face.
The man was later found in the bathroom, and the suspect called 119 and the victim was taken to the hospital, but died shortly thereafter.
The Metropolitan Police Department is proceeding with the identification of the cause of death of the man and is investigating the circumstances of how he came to be attacked.
