Kurume City, Fukuoka – During an investigation where a female employee was arrested for assaulting a child with a disability at a welfare facility in Kurume City, Fukuoka Prefecture, it was discovered that several other employees were suspected of abusing the child.
The police are proceeding with a thorough investigation.
In this case, a female employee was arrested at a welfare facility in Kurume City last November, for mounting, or getting on top of, an elementary school boy and hitting him in the face.
Subsequent interviews with investigators revealed that there are videos in which staff members appear to be assaulting children using the facility.
On the 19th, the police searched the facility.
The corporation that runs the facility had previously been subject to administrative punishment for not having a resident manager at its facility in Saga Prefecture, and moved its base to Kurume City last year.
