HYOGO – Hyogo Prefecture will create a video to support people with disabilities who are facing difficulty in living due to the new coronavirus disease. In addition to introducing exercises that can be done at home, we also distribute videos aimed at understanding people with disabilities.
Many people with disabilities are refraining from going out to prevent infection, and there is concern that their physical strength and physical function will decline due to lack of exercise or cancellation of the competition.
Meanwhile, the prefecture created an exercise video under the supervision of a sports instructor for the disabled. From the end of March, the prefecture’s Internet broadcasting station “Hyogo Channel” will start a simple program such as putting toilet paper on your head to balance it, turning your hand with a towel around your back and stretching it, and holding a string to strengthen your grip.
Also, people with disabilities have difficulty in preventing infection. For example, people with intellectual disabilities and autism may be hypersensitive and dislike masks. For the deafblind, it is essential that an interpreter / assistant bring the body closer to support.
Another video will talk about the characteristics of intellectual disability and autism, and the life of the deafblind. It will be broadcast on cable TV stations in the prefecture and Sannomiya Center Gai large-scale vision. The Prefectural Universal Promotion Division says, “I want to raise awareness of the needs of people with disabilities in the corona sickness.”
