KANAGAWA – Two and a half years have passed since the Kanagawa Prefectural Board of Education accepted students with intellectual disabilities in ‘mainstream’ schools in three prefectural high schools. These students will graduate in March next year.
There are elementary and junior high schools where children with intellectual disabilities study at an average level, but it is rare for a nationwide school to accept a large number of students at the high school stage where there is an entrance selection.
