The Sagamihara killings suspect was interviewed at the Yokohama Detention Center where he allowed to use pencils:
“The type of ballpoint pen also increased according to the thickness.”
That’s why Uematsu is now drawing Kannon statues. The photo at the top of this article is one Uematsu’s paintings drawn in the autumn.
The novelist Henmi Hiroshi, wrote a novel ‘Moon’ published by Kadokawa Shoten – The novel is partially inspired by the Sagamihara killings – when asked what he thought of it, Uematsu responded:
“I thought the actual situation of the facility was well drawn”
This response surprised the interviewer, who apparently expected Uematsu to see the fiction and the reality at the actual Sagamihara to be different.
