A woman with an intellectual impairment filed a lawsuit with the Kobe District Court on March 3rd seeking compensation for damages of approximately 3.3 million yen, including consolation fee, from executives of the Himeji based disability facility “Guru Puhomin Minoru” .
She alleges that the facility forced her to put an A4 size card on her neck, with wording “I am a liar”.
Her lawyer said:
“We have filed a lawsuit to inform the fact that people with disabilities are being oppressed, we want to reveal the essence and background of the problem at the trial so that the same things will not be repeated.”
The city had suspended the facility on April 19 for six months.
