He said his social media posts over the past year or two had frequently discussed his depression and financial difficulties, prompting the operator to contact him.

Moving into the facility is expected to substantially reduce his living expenses, while returning to his hometown of Osaka will help ease various sources of stress, he said.

Myuji said his physical condition remains unstable and that he does not expect to resume his professional activities immediately, but hopes to gradually regain the ability to go out.

The musician, whose father was late rock singer Masahiro Kuwana and whose mother is singer Ann Lewis, also recalled participating in numerous charity concerts and events for people with disabilities alongside his father when he was younger.

He said he had never imagined that he would one day become the person receiving support and encouragement from others.

Myuji also disclosed that he had gained more than 20 kilograms since beginning treatment with antidepressant medication.

He asked followers to refrain from posting hurtful comments, saying that his depression had made him particularly vulnerable to criticism.
