About ¥690,000 Fraudulently Received, Disability Welfare Services Provider in Komatsushima City Faces Administrative Penalty

TOKUSHIMA – On August 26, Tokushima Prefecture announced that it had imposed a six-month suspension of the provider’s designation on a disability welfare services operator in Komatsushima City for fraudulently receiving approximately ¥690,000 (about US$4,700) in care benefit payments by creating false records of service provision.

The company subject to the administrative penalty is Aoi Tori Support Kikaku, headquartered in Komatsushima City.

According to the prefecture, at the company’s Reiwa Takenoko-no-Sato day-care service facility for people with disabilities in Anan City, it created false records stating that a full-time nurse was assigned to the facility even though no such nurse was actually present. The company did this between June 2024 and February 2026, fraudulently receiving approximately ¥690,000 in care benefit payments.

The misconduct came to light during an inspection related to another facility operated by the same company.

As a result, the prefecture suspended the effectiveness of Aoi Tori Support Kikaku’s designation for six months, effective August 26. Consequently, the disability day-care services at Reiwa Takenoko-no-Sato will be suspended from October 2026 through March 2027.

When contacted by reporters, Reiwa Takenoko-no-Sato said it would “refrain from commenting.”
