SAITAMA – A 54-year-old former part-time employee from Nishi 1-chome, Shiraoka City, has been arrested on suspicion of causing injury after allegedly assaulting a resident at a facility for people with disabilities in Hasuda City, Saitama Prefecture. The Iwatsuki Police Station announced the arrest on the 3rd.
According to the arrest allegations, between approximately 8:17 p.m. and 8:43 p.m. on October 12, 2025, at the disability group home in Sekiyama 1-chome, Hasuda City where he worked, the man allegedly assaulted a 21-year-old female resident by punching her in the face and causing injuries, including a subconjunctival hemorrhage in her right eye. The man denies the charges, stating, “I did not use violence. I cannot accept the arrest.”
The facility supervisor reported the incident to the police station on the 15th of the same month after receiving a report from another staff member who witnessed the assault.
The man began working part-time in May 2022 and was reportedly dismissed through disciplinary termination on October 13, 2025.
