JAPAN– Daisuke Tenbata who has multiple disabilities, including tetraplegia and a visual impairment and uses a wheelchair, has won a seat in the House of Councillors in the election held on July 10th
Tenbata said at a press conference:
“We would like to express our sincere gratitude to all who have supported us so far. thank you very much…I strongly feel the weight of winning in a specific slot, and I feel that I will never waste this seat.”
Tenbata was born in 1981 and lives in Musashino-city, Tokyo.
At the age of 14, due to a medical malpractice, Tenbata developed phonaesthesia, tetraplegia and visual disability
He graduated from Japan Lutheran College & Seminary and studied at Ritsumeikan University.
The main theme of his research is the study of “Person with disabilities and its communication”.
