TOKYO – On June 30th, LGBT and other sexual minorities were discriminated against, such as “homosexuality is an acquired mental disorder or addiction” at a parliamentary meeting of members of the LDP. It was found out by interviewing the people concerned. Support groups for sexual minorities expressed resentment, saying, “It’s a hate speech and it’s not allowed.”

According to the people concerned, the documents were distributed at the “Shinto Association of Spirituality Parliamentary Assembly” meeting held in June. “LGBT often have conflicts in many ways, which can be annoying and lead to suicide.” “The sexual lifestyle of sexual minorities should not be justified with the family. It will be a social problem that will destroy society. ” The document appears to be a compilation of lectures by university officials.

Munetsugu Matsuoka (27), the representative director of the sexual minority support group “fair”, pointed out that “it is clearly unscientific and discriminatory. It is the most problematic thing that such documents are distributed at the ruling party’s meeting.” .. “The world’s perception of sexual diversity has changed dramatically. Gender and family are all involved in policies such as parenting, education and welfare. You shouldn’t stick to a particular idea.”

  1. It annoys me that such schools of thought still exist in a country like Japan, especially when gender fluidity is in some ways part of certain traditions in Japan and wildly accepted amongst a lot of people! Here’s hoping for a brighter future in Japan for fellow LGBTQ humans like myself
