A 29-year-old former employee of a facility for the intellectually disabled; who is accused of killing 19 residents of the facility where he formerly worked in Sagamihara City, Kanagawa Prefecture in July 2016, has been announced for next year. The trial will be held at the Yokohama District Court.
In July 2016, in the case of residents who were stabbed with blades one after another at the intellectually disabled person facility “Tsukui Yamayuri-en” in Sagamihara City, The suspect is charged with 19 counts of murder.
The prosecution with the court before the judicial trial begins, and the defense is proceeding with the procedures to narrow down the issues, and it is already decided that the first trial will be held at the Yokohama District Court on January 8 next year.
The Yokohama District Court announced the dates after the 2nd, and the first trial will last until March 4th, the judgment is going to be handed down on March 16th.
In the trial, information that identifies some individuals, such as the name of the victim, will not be disclosed, and the defendant’s ability to be held criminally responsible will be at issue.
