According to the Ministry of Health, Labor and Welfare persons with disabilities working at private companies with 50 or more employees reached 497,795 (4.5% increase from the previous year) as of June 1 of this year (2017), the highest level for 14 consecutive years . There are 26,692 companies, amounting to 29.3%, who do not employ a disabled person. 96% of such businesses were small business with less than 50 to 100 employees.
