AICHI – Amidst a number of cases across the country in which information on another person’s disability certificate was mistakenly linked to the Individual Number, Aichi Prefecture announced that 95 new cases of incorrect linking were confirmed.
Aichi Prefecture is in the process of checking whether My Number and disability certificate information are correctly linked based on the government’s instructions, and in December last year, there were 23 cases in the prefecture’s jurisdiction, excluding Nagoya City and core cities. It was announced that there was an error in attaching the string.
Aichi Prefecture has been checking the Basic Resident Register system to check for further errors, and announced on the 26th that 95 new linking errors had been confirmed in 40 cities and towns.
In 63 of these cases, when children under the age of 15 received disability certificates, they mistakenly linked their parents’ My Number written on the application form.
Although the erroneously linked information was visible on the dedicated site “Myna Portal,” there is no record of it being viewed, and no information leaks have been confirmed.
Aichi Prefecture has reattached the links correctly and apologized to the person, and said, “We will work to prevent similar incidents from happening again, such as by checking with multiple people.”
