TOTTORI – Tottori City has confirmed that the information in the mental disability certificate of another person was mistakenly linked to the My Number. The city announced that the system was temporarily suspended.

Tottori City issues and manages disability certificates for one city and four towns in the eastern part of the prefecture.
According to the city, on June 29th, there was an inquiry from a citizen saying, “There is information on a notebook that seems not to be mine on Mynaportal. It means that it was displayed on Mynaportal.

In response to this, the city temporarily decided to link the information in the handbooks to Mynaportal from June 30, in order to confirm that the information of about 3,000 people with mental disability certificates in 1 city and 4 towns is correctly linked. It means that it is actually stopped.
So far, no other errors in linking have been found, and no leaks of personally identifiable information such as names have been confirmed.

This is the first time such a mistake has been made public in the prefecture.

The Tottori City Disability Welfare Division said, “We apologize for causing concern and inconvenience. We would like to proceed with the investigation and inspection as soon as possible to correctly tie the strings and proceed with the investigation of the cause.”
