Meet the Japanese Political Party asking Voters to ‘Consider Euthanasia’ at Election Time

It is election time in Japan. On Sunday July 21st, elections will be held for seats in Japan’s Upper House. As NHK World explained: “voters will directly choose 74 representatives. The remaining 50 will be selected through proportional representation. These parties and political groups are fielding a total of 215 candidates for electoral districts.”

One of those parties, lead by Hidemitsu Sano, is called the ‘Consideration of the Euthanasia System’

The ‘about’ page of the ‘Consideration of the Euthanasia System’ suggests that those interested the in the ‘Consideration of the Euthanasia System’ Party should think about the following:

I want to decide my own end

The ability to decide the end of one’s life break [sic] will be the life in which you can can do what you want to do. The fact that you cannot decide the break [sic] in your life leads to anxiety in the future. It may not be important to be able to make a plan of your own life and to have a fulfilling life with peace of mind, not just a life that only lives long.

You can ignore those who do not want to use the system

The euthanasia system is not compulsory for the whole nation, but only for people who want to use it. It is not something that is uniformly imposed on the whole nation like the consumption tax increase. People who do not want to use should ignore it and not use it.

I do not want to extend my life until I have unbearable pain or pain

Even when suffering from a painful and painful illness with no prospect of healing, it is not good to have the freedom to decide your own end with your own will. In the end, there is also the option of euthanasia, which may also lead to the feeling of trying a little harder on the contrary.
