Sagamihara suspect’s personality disorder re-confirmed

In July 2016 at the intellectual disabled premises establishment in Sagamihara City, 19 people were killed and 26 people were injured seriously, a former facility staff member who was questioned for murder, Satoshi Uematsu On 28th August , the Yokohama District Public Prosecutors office judged that holding suspect the criminally responsible was no problem as he was diagnosed as a personality disorder, as after the indictment psychiatric expertise was sought by the investigation officials on March 3.

Five months into the investigation, the suspect was diagnosed as “narcissistic personality disorder.”

According to officials, the Yokohama District Court granted a request from the defense attorney in January this year, and a doctor separate from the investigation stage conducted a second appraisal after indictment. It ended in August and arrived at a diagnosis of personality disorder as well.
