The Tokyo-based company announced that the survey, which opened April 6 and runs through April 30, targets individuals who identify as part of social minority groups, including LGBTQ+ people, persons with disabilities, those with foreign roots, and individuals balancing work with childcare or caregiving responsibilities.

According to the company, the questionnaire is conducted anonymously via an online form accessible on computers and mobile devices. It consists of up to 68 questions across four sections and is expected to take between 15 and 30 minutes to complete.

The survey asks respondents about basic demographic information, aspects of their minority identity, daily life experiences such as consumer behavior and interactions with service providers, and issues related to employment and career development.

JobRainbow said the initiative is intended to collect what it described as the “authentic voices” of social minorities in a format that does not identify individuals. The results will be compiled into statistical data to illustrate the current situation of minority groups in Japanese society.

“While many companies and organizations advocate diversity, measures that adequately reflect the realities faced by social minorities remain insufficient,” the company said in a statement.

It added that the findings will be used to promote awareness and encourage changes in corporate attitudes, as well as to support the development of more effective diversity policies.

Responses are limited to one per person, and the survey period may be subject to change, the company said.

For inquiries, JobRainbow has set up a dedicated survey administration office.
