OSAKA – Kobayashi Pharmaceutical Co. on Friday withdrew its consolidated earnings forecasts for the business year to December 2024, citing difficulties in assessing the impact of a scandal involving its supplement products containing “beni koji” red fermented rice.

For the January-March quarter, the company booked an extraordinary loss of 3,862 million yen related to the beni koji scandal, in which health problems spread among users of its supplement products.
