Prior to Beijing Games, Japanese para-skiers compete

The Japan Para Alpine Skiing Championships for people with disabilities were held on February 1st at the Sugadaira Kogen Pine Beak Ski Resort in Ueda City, Nagano Prefecture, where two super giant slalom races were held.

NAGANO – The Japan Para Alpine Skiing Championships for people with disabilities were held on February 1st at the Sugadaira Kogen Pine Beak Ski Resort in Ueda City, Nagano Prefecture, where two super giant slalom races were held.

In the men’s vertical, Beijing Paralympics representative Masahiko Tokai won both the first and second rounds. Ryo Kano and Takeshi Suzuki competed in the sitting position, with Kano winning the first round and Suzuki the second. Yoshiko Tanaka, a member of the Beijing Para team, won the women’s title in the second round.
