OSAKA – The Osaka High Court (Chief Judge Hiroyuki Nagai presiding) on July 9 rejected the appeal of a lawsuit filed by Heisei Healthcare Academy, a school corporation in Osaka City, against the government’s refusal to allow the establishment of a new Shiatsu training facility for the visually impaired. On the 9th, the Osaka High Court, following the first trial, ruled that the regulation was constitutional and dismissed the appeal by the school corporation.
The Heisei Healthcare Group has filed similar lawsuits in Sendai, Tokyo, and Osaka district courts, all of which ruled that the regulation was constitutional and lost the cases. The group lost in both the Sendai and Tokyo High Courts on appeal.
